I have never owned a BDC scope and wondered which one would be the best for the price. I've talked to people that swear by them. Holdover is easily adjust for. I've looked at the Nikon medels and like what I see, but what esle out there is as nice. I'm shooting a 300 mag and making a change from a Leoupold V3 4.5 X 14. Any help is appeciated.

zeiss has a nice bdc that's what I have on a 300 wsm or a swar. hunter redicle andboth zeiss and swar have a ballistic calculator on there web site

you have a tremendous scope already in a 4.5-14 vx3. The scope that is great is the vx3 4.5-14x 50 CDS . this scope is built around your exact ballistics. once you have the rifle dialed in you send in the cap with your caliber, ammunition velocity, and they build a custom cap to that specific load and ballistics. This allows you to adjust the turret for the exact distance of the target and takes out the guess work. I have one on my 270wsm and its the best thing going. hands down for the money.

I assumed you were looking for a reticle. If you want a turret, I agree with Headneck418. The CDS is great, but I prefer mine in MOA as I handload and it gives me a bit more flexibility. Should cost you about 60 bucks. mtmuley

I have the Luepold 4.5x14 I had them put a ballistic turret on my scope for $86 bucks. It is tuned to the bullet and velocity of my 300 WBY. JB

I had the VX-3 4.5-14 with the B&C reticle. I never really liked the idea of having to have it on 14 power for the lines to work. I guess sight in at any range but remember the lines will change with the power setting. I switched to the VX-3 with the CDS system. I love this setup. On the money out to 700 yards with adjustment to 1000. I have just not shot that far. It is on at any power.
