My wind river binos got ran over by a truck and crushed while I was at work. I sent them in to Leupold and told them what happened. The Wind River, or Green Ring line is only covered by a conditional lifetime warranty and does not cover anything outside "normal use". I was expecting to have to pay, but they surprised me when I received a brand new pair in the mail yesterday free of charge! What a first class company. That was the clincher, and I decided to go with the Gold Ring 12-40x60 HD spotter.

I have always loved Leupold. I have had my Wind River's for about 5 years now and I love them! Price + weight + quality = love! My cousin had an old, old scope that he had got from his father because it was broken. He sent it in to get fixed and they sent him a brand new VX-II at no cost. I love the warranty. It's good to see that they will go above and beyond when it comes to making customers happy.

I had a problem with one of my eyecups twisting out too far on my Wind Rivers last year on my Arizona Strip hunt. They were several years old & I sent them into Leopold after my Idaho hunt. It looked like a simple fix & I thought that they would just repair them. Instead, they sent me a brand new pair. UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE! You don't get that often these days.

I Lost the rubber eyecover on my Leupold Gold Ring 12x40x60 so I sent Leupold an E-Mail and told them I lost it and wanted to purchase one. Customer service sent me an E-Mail the next day and said they sent me one!!! No Charge!!! I got it by friday for my scoutin trip!!! Good Luck

Same for me.

I lost the alan wrench for my target scope. They sent me 3 new ones at no charge.

Got some type of dimple on the lense of my wind river bino's. It was hard to tell it was a manufacture defect or if I had chipped it. No questions, they sent me a new pair.

I picked up a Vari X III this year. Alot of companies turning out good glass out there, but one of the key factors in my decision was reputation for service. Leaupold was one of only two companies that I could find absolutely no complaints on quality and timeliness of service. Everyone seemed really pleased with how the company treated them.

On an elk hunt I was riding a horse with my rifle slung over my back. I was off glassing and went to get back on. As I swung my leg over the saddle the horse lunged forward and then stopped suddenly. Needless to say I fell off and went over the front of the horses head, breaking my fall was the brand new VX-III. The scope broke in half, my elk hunt was ruined but I got a brand new scope out of the deal. Leupold for Life.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-06 AT 00:02AM (MST)[p]I've been hunting with my Leupold Wind Rivers for about 9 years. After about the 5th season I couldn't get them to focus as clearly as before. I called them and they said to send them in. I did and I got them back about 10 days later and have had no problems since. After reading the other stories I will continue to use Leupold for all of my optics. I have also had a Vari X II on my .280 and its clear as a bell and have had no problems with it.

Over the last few years i have been seeing countless threads stating how over priced luepold scopes are and how everyone has not only caught up to them in the quality department but have often surpassed them in the $$$ for value catagory.

To this I have ALWAYS replied that yes scope makers like Nikkon and Bushnell now make scopes on parr with Leupold. BUT when you factor in leupolds second to none C/S and warranty and then add that ontop of their near bomb proof scopes coupled with you are helping keep American jobs in America, you simply can not prove to me that ANY scope barr none in Leupold price range will do anything for you any better in a hunting situation than leupold will or some how magickly turn an unmakable shot with a Leupold scope into a makable one by using some other scope brand, its just that truethfully simple.

I own seven VariX-IIs that have flawlessly with stood dozens of hard hunting trips 100s opon 100s, and some scopes 1000+ rounds of hard kicking magnum recoiling rounds all with no failures what so ever. Im sure the same can and have been be said of other makes of scopes. But after all my years of perfect experiences with leupold products, it would be just plane stupid to risk going to another scope maker. I mean if it wont do anything any better for me than leupold why on earth should I switch?

I wish leupold would copme out with a decent spotter. There gold is "average" and a solid step below the big 3.
