You know how they say that Ungulates only see in Yellow, Blue, and Grey.
They don't see shades of Green or Red.

Well, I have seen camo demos done by professionals that have a guy in the bush, and they have removed the color to simulate a game animal.

But, I never had seen it done with two patterns side by side.

So, I decided to give it a try.
I grabbed some camo and took them out for a drive.

So you have a full color version, then a version with Red and Green colors removed.

I am by no means an expert in animal vision, and as you can clearly see, I did not attempt to hide the clothing in its environment.

This was not a comparison to see what is better, KUIU or SITKA. Obviously I am a fan of both.

It was more or less, just for fun. For my own personal information.

But, I thought some here, might find it interesting.

Clearly, each has their place, and if you attempted to blend in by positioning yourself, the results would improve for both patterns.

What I found most interesting was that the KUIU Verde pattern is very green, but when you sucked the green out of the photo, the colors and pattern did not change much at all.
The Sitka, being mostly treys and browns, I would not expect to change much.
But the KUIU really surprised me.

Very cool. I appreciate the time you took to perform your test and share it. To me it looks like grey and brown wins in these two situations. fatrooster.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-06-15 AT 12:06PM (MST)[p]Very interesting. I would love to see more dialogue on this. I think you should repost it in the general forum. Also maybe title it Animal Vision or something else. I Almost didn't read this because I thought it was a KUIU vs SITKA post. I'm glad you posted this.

very interesting I also have both brands I do not have any KUIU pants yet but I have also done tests with live critters in the field I have had yotes come in under 5 yards & have NO clue I was there wearing Sitka Opti fade camo . I used the KUIU shirts & wore my Sitka pants last fall archery hunting & had bulls & cows come in under 10 yards & also have NO clue I was there I think they both do an excellent job . But I will lean towards the KUIU myself due to performance & costs !!
