Hey guys

What are your recommendations on some good late season camo.

I like Sitka. But I heard there are some that are just as good, but not as much $.

thanks

Rubble, ya know camo is a funny thing, everyone has their own opinions and favorites. Bottom line is you dont need to spend a ton of money on the high end names to do the job. The object of camo is to break up the human outline and blend into the terrain. So is in the snow get some with white mixed in, just know your environment....terrain etc. I had to see it first hand to make me a believer. I watched this guy wearing the ugliest camo duck blind crisscross pattern yellow and black and it broke up the human outline. I watched that guy on several hunts stalk deer and get with in archery shot distance many times....just crazy....so save your money, be smart know your terrain and purchase something you will be happy with and in your price range. Late season we wear pants that are waterproof, gortex rain jacket, military grade long underwear, smartwool socks, gortex boots...good luck, kill a big one.

))))???->

I have Sitka KUIU core4 Kings etc my go to now a days is Firstlite awesome wool gear warm dries quickly blends great in just about any terrain !! If your hunting in snow of course pretty much anything white my go to is hand made white sheet material that I wear over my clothes have had yotes as close enough to spit on . All breaks down to what you like what type of country your hunting & how much $$$$ you want too spend

I have the sitka 90% jacket that I tried this year and it was great when you had a fleece or wool layer underneath. It was great for moving around and semi-still hunting but if you were sitting for a period glassing you'd chill up, so layer accordingly. This in California though, the temp was in the 40's with no rain and light wind.

If you check around sometimes you can find them on sale pretty reasonably priced. google the jacket and you'll see where they'll run specials on certain sizes, if your up on it often enough you'll run into something you like.

I think I would focus on quality base layers first for a late season hunt, I really like the merino wool products offerd by First Lite (230 g & 330 g) products. I have several Kuiu products for outer wear and like both the attack pants and guide pants (a little heavier) although I like the original Verde pattern much more than the Verde 2.0, unforunatley it's not available anymore. Camo pattern depends on what type of vegetation your hunting in. There are lots of quality options, I've recently purchased some SKRE gear that I'm looking forward to trying, looked at it during the Denver sportman's show. The Vias pattern by Kuiu and the Cipher pattern by First Lite both look good for open country western hunting.
