LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-12 AT 02:36PM (MST)[p]Has anyone bought any clothing from this company and if so, what did you think of it? It is advertised in the new Western Hunter Magazine and is sold at Sportsman's Warehouse.

I've tried the base layers and the Lab sweater, and sitka merino, and kuiu merino and in my opinion, Core4Element merino is the best way to go.

I bought a bunch of First Lite stuff this year and I'm very pleased! The clothing is very quiet, comfortable and keeps you comfortable whether its 80 or 30 degrees. My favorite thing is that when you're sweating your walnuts off, you don't get that smell of "funk" after a few days like you do with materials other than merino wool. I used it for all of my archery hunting here in CO as well as WY elk hunt where it got down in the teens in the mornings and I never changed or added clothing! I mainly used the base layer pants with the kanabs on the bottom and the base layer top paired with the hoodie and vest. Hope this helps!

I have merino wool shirts from many manufacturers. I think the First lite shirt is the most comfortable, followed by the Kuiu. The first lite shirt feels almost like cotton, it is so comfortable. A great product.
The Core4 shirts are decent, but not as itch free as the other two.

Wow, this all depends on the user then because to me the Core4 is as smooth as a baby's butt. Not a hint of itch at all, its like wearing a fine fleece shirt. To me Firstlite and Kuiu are about the same which is second to the Core4 itch wise. Kuiu's sleeves are to short tho which bugged the crap out of me. Sitka was last on the itch scale but I love the Optifade camo so I still have one.

First Lite is top notch.
Core4, KUIU is also very good, and comparable. You cannot go wrong with any of them.

I like the NEW Kanab Pants very well. I have several shirts and have found them to be outstanding.

been thinking about getting some of the kanab pants. i notice the size i need (xl) has the inseam at 32"-35". i'm a 32" inseam, which is a tad long. are you guys just hemming the legs to your inseam? is that why they give an inseam range? thanks.

First lite merino is simply the best there is. I have used CORE4, KUIU, IBEX, and a few others and First Lite has been the best. It is the softest no itch at all and will not hold any odors. IT fits wonderful and last A LOT longer than the others I have tried. Merino tends to kind of ware out over time and in my experience First lite last a lot longer than the others mentioned. Also First Lite is coming out with new outerwear and insulation so give them a look. Great things to come from First Lite..

I have FirstLite top and bottom base layers and have been happy with them. Haven't tried other brands of Merino to compare...though I did just pick up some Red Ram (not tried yet). As mentioned above, the great thing about Merino is that it won't stink after a few days of wearing....plus it is not as miserable to wear when it gets warm and you are over-dressed. One thing I noticed is that if you are just sitting around in the cold, it is not as warm as heavy Under Armor.
