Left Over Tags Sales

I'm looking to buy one of the Box Elder, Area 1, left over archery tags mainly to use once the extended archery starts. Anyone know how quick those sell? I'll be online bright and early on the 14th but didn't know what my chances of getting one would be. If not I'll get a general archery elk, but deer is what I really want. Any info would be awesome.

That WILL be the case as fever said above!

My brother and I were in the office a couple years ago and he "hit the button" a few seconds before me and all went well for him but not for me because the system crashed.

Be ready to go as soon as the whistle blows and you might be fine. Seems no one wants the straggler tags until it's all we have left. We've all been there.

Best of luck!

Hey, nothing wrong with "straggler tags" :) since that is what I have. It was my 5th choice archery choice. Crazy how that is. Ill be helping my son who will be 12, hunt a big buck on the extended area on the opener. As for me, I might be looking for elk, but dedicated to get him on a buck.

You're correct Robiland!

Nothing wrong with them at all and as you can see in the paragraph before that, I was trying to get one.

Stragglers just mean they're a bit slower but still get to the destination!!!!

I say thank goodness for straggler tags and rely on them often.

Zeke!

Well what a typical circle jerk! haha

First try tag 321--kicked at 'cart'

Second try tag 118 ---kicked at Payment Processing

Third try tag 12---- I got it! whew....

Box Elder bow buck---Highly coveted no doubt!

Robb

First try, tag 315 kicked at cart
Second try, tag 268 kicked at payment
Third try, tag 15 kicked at card
Fourth try, tag 1, didn't click it quick enough and all the tags were gone.

Haha the best thing with planning on hunting the extended archery deer is if you don't get a deer tag, you can still chase bulls. Bring on Wasatch front elk hunt 2016.

What about the remaining Bull/Spike tags?
http://wildlife.utah.gov/hunting/biggame/pdf/2016/2016_big_game_remaining_permits.pdf

According to that, there was 15,000 permits available left-over. IDK Utah at all, but that seems like a lot. Either way, I am interested in one but do not understand the unit. On the application, it says EB-1001 but on that PDF it states ANY UNIT.

Are these tags unit specific? Dont understand as I doubt I can hunt anywhere....

You have to choose between Any Bull and those units only

Or

You have to choose Spike and those units only.

Or

You could choose Archery and hunt Any Bull or Spike/cow units (double check the spike/cow units as some have restrictions on sex) and many guys do the Spike so they can 'scout' for when they draw their LE bull unit.

Robb

Also not every LE unit has the spike hunt on it, so check to make sure the unit you plan on hunting allows spike hunting.
