Before I start, I want to say that I didn't buy these tags before I had permission. I had permission plenty in advance to hunt property within the unit and never dreamed I would have had a problem locating elk. But as it most of the time happens, things never work out how you had hoped. So here I am asking for some help
I purchased my wife and I cow tags for the manti private lands back when they first went on sale in hopes of getting my wife the chance to fill her first elk tag. I had permission to hunt ground by mt pleasant and that's where I planned to hunt. Well as luck would have it, I never laid eyes on a cow in the 8+ trips we made to thus property. Saw a bunch of bulls but no legal cows. The snow hit and pushed pretty much everything out of the country. I got permission to hunt a bunch of ground above scofield, that I've had success on in the past. Again, bad luck followed and there was so much snow by the time we could hunt there, that all the elk had bailed out of there for the lower ground. The hunt runs until the 31st of this month and I'm out of ideas and options. Which is what brings me here in hopes that some one might be able to help us out. I personally don't care if I fill a tag, but I'd love to see my wife have a chance at filling hers. I'd be willing to pay a small trespass fee if necessary, for a legitimate chance to get in to some elk. If you or anyone you know has access to some property that wouldn't mind an elk or two taken off it and would be willing to allow us to hunt, please send me a PM. I have access to snowmobiles if needed.
I appreciate any help you can give me! Thanks!
