Question?
I would like to put in for a cwmu that has 3 available tags.

If I put in as a group with just my father would that work? He has ?9?points and I have ?0?. I was hoping to draw the permits with ?4?points and to have a hunt with him.

Can you apply as a ?group? with only 3 permit allocated to public?

Thanks

Sure you can apply, they will happily take your app fees, but with only 3 tags given, the chances you both end up with tags are extremely low. Even if you had 15 points.

my understanding is you can't draw in the point pool. 1 tag goes to most point person so a group can't get it. 2 tags in random pool, If you draw the first random tag you would both get a tag, but if someone draws 1 random tag and then your group wouldn't be disallowed.

Thank you that was what I was hoping I could find out.

I have seen the unit get drawn with 4-9 points and I wanted to hunt it again this year now that I know the unit very well. Last year I killed a small bull but had a blast trying and missing another larger one.

Thanks

Thanks, that was the info I was needing. I was hoping to figure out a way to draw. I have seen 4-9 point draw it and now that I know the area pretty well after hunting and killing my bull last year, I wanted to try for it again this year.

So did you draw the cwmu tag last year? If so, you'll have a 5 year wait until you can apply again.

I didn't think CWMU's used the "Bonus Tag" pool system..??

I thought it was just random for whomever put in..?? If there are 3 public tags, I think you have a shot at any of them, but, I don't know how it's handled when 2 are gone, and your application pops for the last one, and there are two names on it..??

Half of the public CWMU tags still go to the highest point pools.
