Info on Missouri and Georgia

I am looking for any information and advise for both these states for deer hunting. My son is just starting in the Army and will do most of his training at Ft. L. Wood Missouri till the first of the year then will be doing his Airborne training at Ft. Benning in Georgia. He is mainly a bowhunter having killed elk and blacktails as well as muledeer with his rifle. ANyway, he probably wont have a bunch of time, but I am seeking any info if anyone has anything to share. I have reviewed the hunting regs for both states and looks like seasons will be open during his time at both places. What I am wondering if anyone knows if there are public hunting areas close to these military bases or if hunting is allowed on the bases and if the hunting is even worth his time? I'm sure he will still try to hunt even if not the best but any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Plenty of land on Ft. Benning. Should be some hunting available. He needs a climbing tree stand.

There is a lot of state and conservation areas open to the public in MO. Look for areas that are bowhunting only for the best hunting. The pressure decreases a lot the later the season gets also.
