How does the whitetail situation look like around Elk City??ras 1954

Robert,
I couldn't tell you about this year but we hunted there last year and it was pathetic, the wolves have have devastated the whitetail deer in that area. Until they do something more about the wolves I can't see it getting any better.

HEY BONE, THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE, I WAS AFRAID SOMEBODY WAS GOING TO SAY THAT ABOUT THE WOLVES. WAS THERE LAST YEAR 4 OF US CAME BACK WITH 2 BUCKS IT WAS TOUGH. LIKE YOU SAY RAN INTO WOLF SIGN ALL OVER, MATTER OF FACT SAW A COW ELK THAT WAS HAMSTRUNG AND A WHITETIAL DOE, I REALLY DIDNT LIKE SEEING THAT. I'M LEAVING ON THE 9TH TO TRY IT AGAIN. FIRST TIME LAST YEAR EVER HUNTING WHITETAIL, I SORT OF GOT HOOKED, THAT COUNTRY UP THERE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAT WHAT I'M USE TOO, I'M USUALLY CHASING MULIES ARUND THE HIGH DESERT. THANKS AGAIN. I'm heading over that way tomorrow and will come back on the 3rd and will give you a report. Never hunted there before but looking forward to chasing some whitetails. How were the bucks you guys got last year?

BLOOM THE BUCKS, ONE WAS A SMALL 4-8 POINT WHAT EVER THEY CALL THEM AND THE OTHER WAS AN ABOVE AVERAGE 4-8, THE TAG IS ALSO GOOD FOR DOE'S, I JUST COULDNT BRING MYSELF TO SHOOTING ONE HAD PLENTY OF CHANCES, BUT AFTER EATING THE THAT MEAT I MIGHT HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS. Tuff hunt while we were there, the weather was too nice and made it difficult hunting. I ended up shooting a small 3pt and saw one other nicer buck that I couldnt get a shot at. They were not moving expect for at night and didnt seem to interested in does yet.
