Moved to Wyoming this summer and have found some good area's for mulies, but haven't come across much for whitetails. I'm down by Cheyenne and would like to find something some what close by just looking for good starting point. I'm not interested in paying to hunt so maybe there isn't any good public land real close by.
Thanks,
Trevor

your in a tough part of the state for whiteys.. what about the chugwater to wheatland area. i travel that way once in a blue moon but i just remember seeing some . i doubt there is much public there.. but something to look into

Thanks there is a descent size area up there that I've been watching on and off haven't seen much for deer, but it just looks like there has to be some there.

There are some good whitetails up north around Sundance. There is a national forest up there and some scattered tracts of state land. If you can find some next to a farmer's field , you should do well. The website for the state trust land is lands.state.wy.us
Do your homework and you should do fine.
