I was able to draw a limited leftover 3rd season buck tag for unit 27/181.

I've hunted units around these, just not the units themselves. From what I've read, tons of hunters and a lot of private land...

Still want to get out there and put in a good effort though. I plan on scouting the units well in the next couple weeks, but looking for any advice/tips from anyone familiar with the areas.

Is it worth trying to reach out to private land owners? I've heard they can be rough and not the friendliest up there.

Not looking for a trophy, just really want to fill the freezer for the family again this year.

Thanks guys!

Dang not one response? No one has any advice for these areas at all??

Not looking to steal the big one, just want to fill the freezer!!

Slow yer roll, its only been a day, its summmer, yer new. I've never set foot in it.

Hunted it 10-15 years ago corral peak seems to ring a bell to me. I remember seeing alot of deer but only 1 buck. I want to say we hunted earlier in tbe year also tho so that could be why.

Avoid Chimney Rock. After Sunday you can hunt more of the unit as a great deal of the hunting pressure will be reduced without the weekend hunters. Good luck!

Well with the leftover list coming out today, might as well pick up a doe tag and cow tag to have along with my buck tag.

Looking forward to trying out a new area(s), always fun hunting with family.

If anyone else has anymore information/tips, it would be greatly appreciated!

Good luck to all this year!!

After taking a look at the leftovers the wife and i decided to try to pick up some left over doe tags and head on back over to middle park when and if we fill our main tags not sure where we will go but figure it cant be that hard to find a doe or 2.

I agree, that's why we are picking up doe tags and cow tags just in case. Hoping to find a buck or two, but will settle for a doe (wouldn't mind a nice cow as well).
