Got the call...DOW 44 4th season tag turn in

Got a call from DOW and apparently my 18 points that was not enough to get a tag on the regular draw was enough to put my at the top of the turn in call list.

I have a few days to decide....thinking I will...last year was a bust for the big point holders with the warm weather so a whole crop of big bucks did'nt get killed...some early snow up high this year...pretty good dates..

It gives me less time than I would like but thinking I will....

Any thoughts???

Absolutely. It is what you applied for anyway. Remember tho that taking the tag burns your points. Good luck!

I know the drill good snow great hunt...no snow a bust....nobody seems to have any plan "b's"....but the point are creeping November is wide open for me...95 percent sure I am going to do it

That would be a tough decision. For me, if I knew the unit and where I wanted to hunt and thought the weather would be in my favor I would probably take it. If I wasn't familiar with the unit I would feel like I hadn't had time to do my homework and would be nervous about taking a chance (it's 18 years of points). I was wondering on the draw odds it has restricted and non-restricted land owner tags, I assume maybe one can be sold and the other not? The reason I ask, is that I'm curious if there are land owner tags that can be sold for this hunt, what the cost would be? This might make you feel like you're getting a real bargain. lol. Good luck, if you take it, I hope you post a picture of the big un you got!
