A good buck from 3rd season

Haven't posted in quite a while. Thought I might share my buck from this year.

I ended up taking this buck on the 5th day of season. I had a backpack trip planned and was supposed to leave that night but hunted out of my dad's base camp that morning not intending to shoot anything. I had to wait for my brother to arrive that night. This buck came off some private chasing a hot doe and was just too good to pass up!

He was about 600 yards out and heading for the trees. I took off running to close the distance. I ended up crawling through the sage and got to 280 yards. Right before he was about to go out of sight the doe spotted me and they both paused. It was just enough time to get set up and take a broadside shot. The buck took two steps and tipped over!

He is my best hard horned deer and couldn't be happier!

Congrats , that's a shooter in my book. Love to here rutting activity on the 3rd season. Probably going to burn my 15 NR Pts next year on a 3rd season hunt.
