LO tag / trespass fee

Hey fellas,

I was going to post this in tag classifieds but I'm not a buyer(yet) or a seller, just looking for some info.

I am curious what it typically cost for a decent LO archery/muzzle tag, not looking for a primo unit, just good elk numbers and 300 type bulls. Any unit suggestions? Would a trespass hunt in an OTC unit be a better route?

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

Good numbers of elk and 300 inch bulls?

Sounds like unit 76, which takes NR's about 15 points to draw. Honestly not trying to discourage you, but you are likely to be paying high dollar for that type of hunt on private land.

If you have a lot of money, I would look into some of the private in unit 40, they kill some big bulls out that way.

Agreed, GMU40 has great bulls, and you'll pay a primo price to hunt there too! Other GMUs have quality bull to but I'm only familiar with Northwestern CO

A better place to try for LO tags is Meeker/Craig/Steamboat area private ranches along Hwy 40. There are quite a few ranches up there and they hold good numbers of bulls and bucks from younger ones to trophy sizes.

From what I've seen/heard LO tags for deer will run you $1500'ish and elk $2000... depending on season. If season coincides with rut the price is higher.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it. Can anything be found in $500-$1500 range? If so, what are real expectations for this level of hunt?

Thanks again guys.

Pocu0801,
I've not seen them available for that price range where I'm familiar... best wishes.

Its going to be tough IMO to find something in that range with lots of elk and 300 inch bulls.... but I hope you do! and if you do, please PM the info :)

expectations 200" + bull. Archery. not muzzy. L.O. Tag. Public Land. Unit 66,67. $500-$1500. Might be what your looking 4.??

An archery trespass fee for someone like Rocky Mountain Ranches is $2,100. Those are usually OTC areas so a 200 inch bull.

$500-$1500 probably not gonna get you s##t for a LO tag. $1500 might get you a drop camp though, might be something to look into.
