Preference Point Refund?

I would like to try and get my $40 back for an antelope point I purchased. I was thinking the $3 was all I would have to pay. I figured I would build points, but now I realize it's not worth $43 to apply for antelope in Colorado every year.

Is there a way I can get my $40 bucks back or not?

Thanks,

HJB

Page 2 of the regulations leaves you to believe it's not very likely. I'm not sure if you can surrender your point and get your fee back or not. Might be worth a phone call next week. As I said before I can see this scenario playing out over and over in the coming days.

I've been purchasing deer preference pts for quite some time in Colorado. I was also charged the $40 fee for a deer pt this year. Is there really any cheaper way to gain a preference pt per species than the $40, being to escape the fee you would still have to purchase an additional license for (fish, small game)?

If you only apply for one species the $40 fee is the cheapest way to go. If you apply for more than one species the annual small game or fishing license is a cheaper route. You can get your $40 fee back if you surrender your point. There's talk of that fee going to $100 which would change that scenario. But they may also raise the price of the small game fishing license as well. Time will tell. All I got.
