Does nobody read the regs or look at anything associated with putting in for Colorado?
It's all black and white and all written down.....
Sorry I just don't get all the "I didn't know this and I didn't know that" stuff

Hell DW has posted more stuff on this forum trying to educate everyone but I guess people just go with the flow anyway and worry about it later.... LOL

I don't and it cost me a little extra. I'm not mad about it, just want to know how things work. I apply in 8 states and they all do things differently. I find the "buy a small game license this year, get free points next year" very odd. This is my first issue in 12 years of applying in Colorado. The good news for residents is I suspect there will be fewer applicants next year. The huge increase in applicants was worse than I thought it would be.

>Lots of people are mad, and
>I bet CPW has some
>new trucks next year....

People are idiots for being mad. As for the trucks, that is completely out of the CPWs hands. They have no say in when they get new trucks etc. The motor pool for the state handles all of that and as a result they are tied to the lease for the state. When a truck is x years old or reaches x miles it has to be turned in and new one replaces it regardless of what CPW wants

I appreciate the explanation on how government vehicle contracts work, but you got the joke I made, right? About massively increased revenue potentially based on many people failing to take time to read the new regs?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-18 AT 08:13AM (MST)[p]I've talked to people that applied for years that didn't know they could avoid the $40 preference point fee by buying a fishing or small game license. Don't feel bad if you didn't know.

I don't know if anyone is part of the I Hunt Colorado facebook group. Its usually a pretty good group, but that draw result posts have made it un-bearable and the complaints about not drawing. Ten minutes on the CPW website looking at draw odds could resolve 99% of the complaints. Its become that everything is a conspiracy to give non-residents all the tags when in reality the draw odds have told the same story over the last few years.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-18 AT 09:13AM (MST)[p]I just spoke with the folks at the Fort Collins office and was told there is a process to surrender your preference point and get your preference Point fee back. There is a Time window so if that is something that interests you I would suggest calling them next week and start that process in motion. It isn't mentioned in the regulations.

Most of the Facebook pages for the State Wildlife Agencies can have some interesting reading after draw results are posted too.

Yes, If you really wanna get depressed on the lack of knowledge most of the people that hunt Colorado have, Check out a facebook page called " I hunt Colorado" I cant believe how clueless some of these clowns are when it comes to the draw process. The fact that some of the people on that page own a gun scares me.

I'm scared to know I'm hunting in the same woods with half of those yahoos on the ?I hunt Colorado? page.

I don't think many of them research the draw statistics because they are all butt hurt that they didn't draw. One guy has complained many times he hasn't drawn his unit in the last 3 years. Hell, if it takes more points than you have, you're not gonna draw.

Or the residents, blaming the non residents because they didn't draw their tags. They think everyone is in the same pool and the NR are hurting their chance of drawing.

I laugh at I hunt colorado...

I have been kicked off that page several times for telling people what idiots they are...

I have not been back.

As for the regs and people not reading, etc. I consider the draw a game and any game I play, I know the rules before I start. Not sure why others do it differently, but they do...

Statistics can change drastically from year to year. Last year unit 62 muzzleloader, NR 10 tags available- 1 with 7 points, 4 with 6 and 5 with 4points. So everyone with 4 points drew a tag. This year I put in with 5 points and thought sure I would draw. This year- 2 with 12 points, 1 with 11, 2 with 9, 2 with 7 and 6 with 6 points. So last year I would 100% got a tag, this year I wasn't even in the draw.

Why was my post #12 deleted? It simply stated to look at post #7. What is wrong with that? GD liberals running this place too??
