What To Do With 8 pts?

I am thinking about trying to cash in on my 8 MD points.

I was wondering what route I should go with 8 pts; high country archery, early high country rifle, or try for a rifle migration or rut hunt.

I really don't have a preference on weapon type, and would like to harvest a good representation of a MD buck, I don't have to shoot a giant....

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

You'll have more fun on 3rd or 4th season hunt if there is snow. Always a gamble. I like early season, but if you aren't in a limited access area, you will be inundated by archery elk hunters. Lots of time to research.

I'd for sure use them regardless of what season you decide. Having been to Colorado a couple times as a NR on mule deer hunts, I agree with the theory of hunting there more often instead of building a couple decades worth of points and gambling it on just one hunt. With weather being such an issue, always increasing costs, etc., go now. Me personally, unless you're close enough to scout often, I'd lean towards a third season instead of an early high country.

MuddyBoots - you're right on, that's why I am looking to burn my 8 pts.

All of my hunting buddies are just getting into the CO points game, so I'm looking to get into a pattern of going out with them every handful of years....

Thanks for the comments guys!
