unit 9 or 10

hi, I probably shouldn't worry yet, but I have 16 nr pts. for elk I've always put in for unit 10 early, from what I understand there's not a lot of public ground in that unit so I'm debating whether to switch to 9 or 1 for early bull. I have bowhunted before but would rather hunt with a rifle. but where 9 is every other year for rifle I can't decide whether to try for archery or just put in for unit 1 early rifle.. I know I probably still have some more yrs. of waiting but what do u guys think. thanks for any ideas..

There still are some great bulls there, but I would pic 9 over 10 some of the big time guides are moving and going to some other units, you might talk to them and see what they suggest.

Don't think you will get a unit 1 rifle with 16 NR points.
Archery is a different story.

As a non-Rez, you have no chance at all of drawing an early rifle bull tag with 16 points. I have 17 points and applied for hunts I might actually draw, which are both archery hunts.
