AZ Sheep Permits?

Did I read the AZG&F website correctly that it only grants 80-100 sheep permits per year? And with a non-res cap of 10%, that ain't many NR tags per year!!

I know the new draw process could give a tag to someone with no points, but with so many people in the drawing, I'm wondering if I should even bother. Although I do buy a lottery ticket sometimes!!

Yes...the odds are long but if you want a desert sheep.....apply....apply...apply.....

Read the thread on Couewhitetail. With the point creep residents will be lucky do draw before they die. If you have the money then apply. But you'd be better off buying a sheep tag in mexico.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-07-16 AT 10:11PM (MST)[p]NM gave out 42 rocky and desert tags this year and residents got at least 84% of those. Still really tough odds, even without a bonus point system. I lived in AZ for 8 years and don't miss points one bit. Drew public antelope the last 3 years in a row and drew one of four desert sheep tags on the WSMR for December as a resident. As screwed up as this state is, the draw has been pretty good to me.
