Anyone having any luck with Elk yet in 34? Let's see some pics! I drew the second Archery and hoping to see some action.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-11-17 AT 11:37AM (MST)[p]Will be there 20th-24th of this month for deer. Was actually only planning to hunt the January rut, but new baby due then so had to adjust on the fly to get any hunting in. Having to go in blind (new unit to me). If anybody has any pointers they'd like to share regarding deer in this unit they'd be greatly appreciated since my scouting trip has now become my hunt.

Not mentioning where deer may or maynot be I would stay away from Benson Ridge area. Toooo many motorcross bikes on the trails during hunting season. I was there last week on my Elk hunt and it was really bad. My mistake having not hunted there in several years. I had other places I could have gone I just would not have thought that people would be out there during hunting season.

nmhuntr, did you have any luck? We were out there Thurs-Sun. We may have crossed paths, I'm not sure. Deer were tough, but did see several bulls and they were pretty active bugling. Where did you hunt in 34?

No luck but I left the first Sunday

My buddy went back Friday and Saturday but no lick. We were in the Benson Ridge Karr Canyon area
