Youth ibex

With the youth ibex season a little over 2 weeks away my lucky son Lee and I are really getting excited and a little nervous for this rare once in a lifetime opportunity. We did manage to get down to the mountain from SD for 1 quick scouting trip this fall mostly so he could see how steep and mean this mountain is and for him to mentally prepare for it. I would love to hear any stories from past experiences. Any advice on field judging and what class of animal to hold out on. As of now we don't have a spotter coming with us so any words of advice on how to hunt these amazing animals without eyes on the bottom would be great. Will the rut still be going on for the Dec 27 th opener? Hearing stories and experiences from other hunters really keeps my 13yr old hunting buddy excited.
