Now that my elk hunt is done I need to start scouting for my archery deer hunt in 24. Gonna make 1st scouting trip in October. Never been there but for some reason I really want to hit the areas around state road 15 coming out of Pinos Altos. It looks like that area has a bit of topography to it but it looks like a good starting point to me. Does this area get loaded with people? I know the best way to avoid people and find animals is to beat the hell out of my truck on some of these back roads but I'd rather not do that. Is this a good starting area for me to start putting leather to the ground?

The mostest and biggest deers I've seen in 24 have been w/in Silver City limits. "Dad? Can we knock on the door and ask if we can kill that buck eating roses in their front yard?"

So PA would be "not a bad start."
