Has anyone heard if the new rule that you cannot fly to scout from August 1 through January 31 will take affect next year?

WHO is looking for deer and elk, It's just a sight seeing flight.
I'm taking pictures of area's that just so happens to have deer and elk in that area.
Tough to enforce it.

You are right, tough to enforce. Existing rule and new rule. This is an example of ethics being pushed to the limit. What do the "average" sportsmen want the G&F to do? Let the Governor's tag's holders' outfitters fly to find the biggest critter on the mountain?

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-18 AT 10:43AM (MST)[p]One could only assume if you have a successful draw and hunting license, and are flying around your unit, you are scouting. Not very hard to enforce as this is plenty of information to prove you are scouting.

The flying rules are the same as this year. The commission did not pass the new rule.

Thank you, I know a lot of outfitters who do not carry tags and fly the unit. It wouldn't be tough to have a "friend" fly the unit and relay the information. I am a guide and I am in the field pretty much from August through January, and I constantly see airplanes in the sky flying low. I report them during the season but it doesn't seem like anyone cares. Pretty much impossible to enforce.
