2016 Mightyhunter and Son

I had a resident general deer tag and a limited entry elk tag. My son had a nonresident region tag in NW Wyoming. I took my buck at high altitude early in the season. Think sheep and goats and that is where I was. I took my buck in a steep avalanche chute on a solo overnight hunt. The pack out was horrible and I damaged my left knee in the process.

My son took his buck late in the season. The pack out was steep and muddy and completely in the dark. Deadfall made it even tougher.

My elk hunting resulted in tag soup. I passed on 7 different branch antlered bulls as I was holding out for something special. The biggest bull I passed was a 280 type 6x6.

Congrats on a couple of good bucks!
When I saw the as he lays pick of your buck it appeared to me that he might have been killed in a crap hole!

I heard that about the grizzly in Crandall. On the first day of my son's hunt(27th), we ran right into a boar grizzly on the trail. We were fortunate to run the bear off without an incident. I think when he saw my son's .338 Lapua deer rifle, he opted for retreat.
