Wyoming Bighorn Sheep/Mule Deer Combo Hunt

After years of applying and building points for Bighorn Sheep, I am finally in position to potentially draw a sheep tag. I'm interested in potentially trying to book a combo sheep/mule deer hunt in Wyoming. I'm looking for some info from guys that are familiar with areas 1 thru 6 and the potential for having success on both animals. The ram would be my #1 priority but it sure would be nice to have a mule deer tag in my pocket just in case we saw a nice buck or were fortunate to kill a nice ram early in a 10 day hunt. I'd be happy with a 4 point buck in the 170" class. Any thoughts or outfitter recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul.

I'd give serious consideration to either Boulder Basin Outfitters or Shoshone Outfitters. Never hunted with either but from their websites they sure put the big sheep meat on the ground! I may get one of them to take me on a a late season elk hunt in '17 if I can draw a tag.

I've never hunted sheep but I'm with Homer I wouldn't try that combo.
You may consider applying for Antelope and you could do a quick little hunt before or after your Sheep hunt dates.

>....do not complicate a sheep hunt.
>Hunt deer later.

This^^^^.
I have sheep hunted several times and it's simply damn hard to "combine" anything.
With that said, it's possible but 2 trips would sure be more fun (and less pressure) to me.

Chances are you'll want to hunt sheep before deer season opens in most units.

I spent a week in sheep area 4 last year hunting bighorn and I didn't see one single buck. a deer tag would have been Worthless even if deer season had been open.

Multitask at work not when you have a sheep tag in your pocket. if you're lucky enough to hun sheep give it your undivided attention.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-19-16 AT 02:25PM (MST)[p]Fishhawk creek outfitter. The owner TJ is solid in the outfitting game. We got ties with shoshone lodge outfitters. You won't be won't let down. Pm me for any info. I help fifishhawk so I can get any info you need. The minute we find out of getting a client we will be watching those rams

As stated before hunting muleys and sheep is possible but not a smart call. Hunting sheep that late puts you in with bad weather. The earlier the better.

We nailed it on muleys this year but sheep should be your number one focus. That tag is important and hunting muleys can always wait till later in season or the next year
