Was looking at this unit have max pts, anyone know outfitters for there or has hunted there recently. Thanks good luck in the draw to everyone elk 108

I hunted there about 6 years ago on a tresspass fee ranch that no longer allows that. I saw lots of Elk up to about 320" and killed a 290 class 6x6. The biggest Elk on the unit live on the Fillmore ranch and 2 other ranches controlled by Gene Carrico - Outwest Safari's. They routinely kill 350 + bulls. Last I looked he was getting about $7,500 for that hunt. 108 would be a tough crowded hunt without private access and nowhere near worth max points. You can draw 108 with 6 preference points if that tells you anything. GOOD LUCK. Chip

I measured a 410 gross bull killed in 108 a year ago.

And here I thought only the best hunts and biggest bulls come out of the max points areas. Now I have to rethink my whole strategy.

I know there are good bulls even in the general tag areas, but how many people have max points and are willing to drop down to a unit where they will only need 6 of those PPs? I'd bet there aren't very many just because most think that the only good animals are in those max or near max units when that isn't the case. My resident buddy killed a 357 3/8" bull in 2010 and the unit takes well less than max PPs for a NR to draw it.
