Saw a day old track in a small patch of snow yesterday while out shed hunting, flathead county.

I do know a grizz was shot by officials this past week..killed 6 calves

Reading of guys seeing them more in the southern part of the state, and also around Helena.

I sure haven't seen one. Saw 1 single pile of scat. It's getting greener, but its gonna be another week I think.

Seeing a pile of bull elk though. So that is a plus.

I should get busy keeping a journal like many hunters do. I would like to know when I saw my first one last year. I know I went out many times before I actually saw one.

Yup, they're out. Took my 6yr old son out today. After telling him all week sometimes you go days without seeing one, sometimes you see 5 in a day, ya never know I got to eat crow. Hadn't even really started hunting yet, driving along and there it was. Hopped out, got him out, the gun, got orange on, snuck a little closer, watched it for 3-4 minutes and that was that. About 130lb sow. My son was a weeeee bit excited, I believe he said "dad, that was frickin amazing." Saw 4 moose, pile of elk, deer, big horn sheep, only thing we didn't see was bigfoot. It was snowing and blowing off and on, but one good day for sure.

Well I ended up getting my bear, the 14th of may, it was a fun hunt, not the biggest bear, right at 5 foot solid black with not a single rub on him, as a matter of fact we are eating him right now and it is out standing, thanks Brent
