Re:.bear hunt

Hi all, this is the first time I've posted on this forum. I have a question I was talking to a police officer in my home town and he is interested in bear hunting in ID. Can you give me the low down on your state as far as what to expect, drawing a tag, terrain, quality, and anything else you all can think of?

Select which part of the state you want to hunt in based on the way you want to hunt and the type of terrain. Are you going to run a bait site or try spot and stalk. Both methods work throughout the state but terrain and more patchy vegetation make central Idaho a better bet for spot and stalk.

Then buy a tag and go hunting. There are only a couple units that require you to draw a tag the rest are over the counter. Some units don't allow bait.

Plus one to Idelkslayer. He hit it right on the button. Tags over the counter in most area's. Several area's are two bear area's where the second tag cost next to nothing. And several area's the wolf hunt is still running at the same time.

If I was to start hunting Idaho bear I would look at a two bear area and probably where the wolf hunt is still running, just in case you see one.

Be prepared to be hooked if you start. It is a great and fun hunt!!!
