Foothills fire east of Idaho Falls

Have been checking on this for last 24 hours. We are watching our friends house up on the hill while they are away. Fire is about 10,000 acres so far and wind-driven out of control. Four air tankers working it continuously for the last several hours. Tomorrow is supposed to be another bad windy day. There goes a lot of deer and elk winter range!

News 8 has reported it over 10K acres now. Notifying people in all of the Ririe reservoir, Meadow Creek, Tex Creek, Birch Creek areas to be listening for notifications to evacuate. If it continues to be driven by these 30 mph winds, it may go all the way to Ririe and the highway.

At 54,000 acres and 2/3 of Tex Creek WMA burned up its going to be a tough winter on the big game. All road restrictions have been lifted today. We have a moose hunt opening today looks like we will be looking at new spots to hunt.
