Idaho unit 55-1 controlled elk hunt

Hello! So I've got a idaho 55-1 elk tag for 2017, I'm new to this area and have never hunted it, I've been doing some scouting and getting to know the area, my question is the hunt doesn't start until the 15th of October and I'm wanting to know if (from others experience) the bulls will be in the same area as they're in September or will they start heading towards there winter range? Any suggestions for this particular hunt would be awesome. Thanks!

I've never hunted the unit. In most places in Idaho the bulls aren't moving until early to mid November with some snow pushing them down.

As deer hunting starts on October 5 and 10 in those units
