And we are OFF

Thanks to everyone who has helped plan this trip. Truck is packed and ready to go. Going to pick up my dad and son and off to Idaho for some deer hunting. This morning my wife was talking to my son and his excitement level is at a all time high. Wife ask him is he is going to get a deer and his answer was " of course, its Idaho, I am holding out for a trophy". We will see what happens Tuesday morning. We will have a good 2 1/5 days to scout which should help plus we will be hunting mostly private property. Still I think I am going to have to encourage him to shoot a buck. He has watched so many hunting shows he is dead set on a solid 4 point and said he is willing to hold out until the last day. Got to love a 10 year olds mindset.

What part of Idaho?? I'm excited for you guys. Sometimes some of the best memories are made on the way to the adventure. Good luck!!!

How did it go?

I posted the story in the mule deer section after the trip. Great Hunt and by far the best tasting deer I have had. In fact last night cooked a half back strap and had to fight the kids just to get some. Hopefully we get the invite back this year. Thinking of taking my daughter on her 1st big game hunt
