Hey y'all.

I'm new to the website so go easy on me!

A buddy and me are looking to do our first mule deer hunt out west. A over the counter hunt/tag.

We have just started to research and really dig deep into planning this hunt.

We are looking to do an archery hunt. Looking to hunt right when the season opens.

What do you all think of unit 78? Yet again I'm new to the site and don't want to get blasted for asking questions. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone else has other options on different zones please let me know!

If anyone here is ever looking to hunt Whitetail's in the Midwest, please let me know! I have access to 1000s of acres in Iowa and Missouri!

Yeah early season spot and stalk. Velvet bucks would be awesome! What unit do y'all recommend? I'm open to any unit where I'm guaranteed a tag and a chance at a good buck!

Check harvest statistics, unit 70 has historically been better than 78.

70 is a controlled hunt, but has unlimited archery tags... basically you're guaranteed a tag, but you have to submit an application. It keeps competition lower and quality up.

Spent a lot of time up there this year chasing elk and saw very little deer let alone bucks worth chasing. Like grizzly said last winter beat em up pretty good. I would look into other areas if it were me.
