Rimrock early archery elk

My buddy and I drew Rimrock tags for early archery elk Sept. 8-21. I have hunted this area a little several years ago but any help would be great. We plan on making a day trip this weekend or next to check the country out. Any starting points would sure help. We have typically hunted western Washington for elk but haven't had much success. This would be our first elk so we won't be too picky. A raghorn would be fine by us.
