Good Morning All, Seeing if someone that knows this unit can help me understand the draw. I have 18 NR points (Good God!) and have been going for 154C. From going on the ODFW draw percentages and the regs, it looks like the one NR tag will go to the outfitters pool this year and then next year there is one guy that has more points than I do (19), so if seems that person should draw next year if they stay in and don't cash out on another unit. So, they get the one and only NR tag in 2016 and then the outfitters get the 2017 tag and then I should be in line to draw in 2018 if it all goes correctly and nobody jumps in that has been just purchasing a point saver. Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks!

Not to be a downer but that tag is way over rated.

I know two guys here local who are good hunters who have had that tag. one guy ate his tag when he couldn't find a buck over 170 and the other guy shot a dink the last day.

If you draw it good luck, it may not be great but White River is probably the only better hunt.

Stay thirsty my friends

I really was not going to chime in, but it is my back yard. There are a few really good bucks on the unit. The ones I am familiar with are on private and the owners do not allow hunting. The local guys that draw the tag catch these bucks crossing onto property that they can hunt. There is no way I would go all in on this hunt. But I have never had the tag and never been out looking during that time of year. You can always catch a bruiser during the rut. Good luck on your choice.

Thanks guys, I know two guys that drew as residents and didn't pull the trigger. One is a friend of mine and he passed on a great buck the first day and then a big storm came in and dumped a few feet of snow and they couldn't get around. The same thing happened to the other guy. Sounds like snowmobiles might be needed. I am not married to Mt. Emily, just want a good hunt after all these years! Been waiting a long time!

With such a large pool of point savers (numbering to 21 points), I suspect that it is about impossible to predict when you might draw. But, I wish you luck and hope that I will follow shortly with 15 points.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-15 AT 05:15AM (MST)[p]ARE ALL YOU POINTS GUYS READING THIS? All this time and money and still no gaurantee that you will shoot a deer. Sorry, if I'm gloating a little, but the point chasers have screwed things up everywhere in the west. I hope that it works out for you.

While I was building pts in the west I made a 200 to 300 LB pile of antler in my yard and I dont know about pt chasers messing up the system, but it was not my choice and I invested wisley, and have nothing but lots of hunts in front of me.
