LAST EDITED ON Jan-02-12 AT 08:33AM (MST)[p]I will take you up on that at some point. I have 4 elk and 4 deer NR points in CO. I want to do a combo archery elk deer hunt in the next few years.

You can look at the draw odds and the best hunt you can draw will be the ones your 13 points will get . it works almost without fail.

A big goat can be found in most any unit in the state, just not that many. 13 points should draw you an average unit with average goats, then it boils down to what area you'd rather hunt based on if you want to camp, stay in town, ext.

Very true 440! Over the years, I have seen some great bucks in almost every unit that I have hunted. I'm convinced that you can find an excellent trophy in almost every unit. The difference is the work it takes and probably some luck. This year I saw an absolute monster holed up in one of the easier units to draw. Of course it was the last day and I didn't have a tag. Had I been hunting, I may have never even gone to that area. If you go for an easier draw unit, just be ready to work harder to find the bucks. Generally speaking, if you want more to choose from, hold out for a harder draw unit.

Thanks for the great info on this subject.
Yes I check the draw odds alot and have my list made.
Just hoping for and getting info on certain units that may help me decide which direction I will go.
Thank You
Rick
