Moving to Klamath Falls and was just curious on how the hunting and shed hunting was out there...

Waterfowl hunting is awesome in Klamath. Deer hunting isn't so good in the Klamath unit, but the Interstate unit holds a good number of deer. I think you will love Klamath.

I love it here. Yeah it could be better, but after living in Prineville, Burns, The Dalles, Springfield, Corvallis, Redmond and Hermiston, this is the place I chose to return to raise my kids.

Hunting? Nope not what it was when I was a kid but things do change. Elk hunting is better... because there pretty much were no elk here prior to the 80's. Deer hunting is worse, but there are some bright spots... if you look. Will not divulge where in a forum. Duck and goose hunting has become something I no longer really enjoy except for the spring snow and white-front hunt. The trout fishing is world class but you must sniff around to find out exactly where. The locals protect the good stuff.

In the end... are you a glass half-full or half-empty type of person?

I know the locals won't give any good spots away, nor would I ask them to. Here in Wyoming, we have the best elk hunting around and the best spots remain secrets passed down. But I was just hoping to see what the elk/deer herd numbers were like. My true passion is shed hunting, and I believe that putting in long days scouting and hiking for days to find honey holes and good spots away from the road are worth it.
