Monterey

I just found out I will be moving to Monterey next summer for a couple years. I currently stationed in Okinawa Japan and am curious about the hunting opportunities in the area. I spent time living and hunting SOCAL about 10 years ago and had fun chasing the deer down south on Camp Pendleton. I hunt both archery and rifle. Anyone else from the monterey area? Any nearby archery and rifle ranges? Just looking for advice on getting started.

I grew up in AZ and still try and hunt there as often as I can draw a tag and get home. can reciprocate any help if needed.

Thanks all.

Not real sure about the hunting in that area, but if you are a golfer you're in business.

Lots of town deer I seen a whopper in a cemetery laying with the tombstones just south of town years ago.

There's a ton of wild pigs in the areas surrounding Monterey , but they're almost exclusively on private property . If you can get permission you could have a blast hunting pigs year round close to home .

Fort Hunter Leggit I believe offers hunting opportunity to military personnel ( being an Officer wouldn't hurt!!)..been a long time and may have changed since!!
