So my wife ended up with one of the random tags drawn for M3. Never been in that area. If there's anyone I can contact for any sort of info that would be great.

Thanksgiving day for me in 2015.

Mine taken on 11/26/2016. A big storm hit that afternoon on my way home and they closed 80 before I could get over Donner Summit. Needless to say, I was stranded in Lake Tahoe for a few days waiting for the road to reopen.

I would talk to 6x7. He helped me out quite a bit on that hunt. Congrats to your wife and good luck on the hunt!

Get the OnX program & map so you can "dance" around the private property. If you're pulling a camp trailer, there's a place in Doyle. Small motel there also. Pray for snow and remember low stress.......and have fun!

Be sure & have her practice at reloading that thing, especially under pressure after the first shot. There'll probably be a pretty good concentration of hunters around Doyle, so don't be afraid to check out the out lying areas.

Don't leave any property of value lying around, some sketchy characters there too.

I have a friend from out of state that drew this year,he was a resident till about two years ago and he kept applying.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-09-18 AT 00:12AM (MST)[p]M3 is a great, fun hunt. My son drew it in 2014 and killed a 31 1\2" buck. I drew it in 2015, but due to also having an AZ strip buck tag, didn't get to put in much time. I ended up shooting a 3x3 the last day that is a tad smaller than BWHT4x4's buck. I passed up a nice, tall 4x4 of 26-27" earlier in the hunt, should have shot him.

You really need to have a good map and spend some time scouting before the hunt. The fires last summer destroyed some of the very best deer country in this unit. Ft. Sage Mountains are mostly burned up. Turtle Mtn is just one big, black cinder. But, there is still plenty of good deer country left that didn't burn.

You're gonna have a good, fun hunt.

6x7 that buck was killed in 2016 when I had my tag. This one was killed by his buddy shortly after I took this picture...

LAST EDITED ON Jul-09-18 AT 07:18PM (MST)[p]He was a beauty of a 3x3 in 2015 he wasn't busted and didn't have that goofy side 2014 he sheared the whole left side off before the season started and he was busted on the left main beam in 2013

6x7, no that wasn't my buck, as Horniac alluded to. I'm sending this from an iPad, otherwise I'd post a photo of my son's buck. I can't seem to post a picture from my iPad.

Thank you! Yes, that's him. This is the kind of potential you have on M3.

That's one hell of a 3 pt! Pretty cool you have a pic of him. Do you go up there to buck watch or do you live in the zone? I have a pic of a couple of impressive 3?s but I never can seem to post pics here.

I was up helping a guy with a tag

He was on a buck and we were watching this buck as a back up for him

He ended up getting the one he was one so this buck survived and was harvested the next year by a guy that hired a guide.

Go away Jake! Ya damn troll. Beardog88, I think he smells your wallet.

The eastern part of X6 burned last year and there is little left now but grass and horses. You will probably find more deer on the west side. Good luck.
