I figured you would know the answer to this one... Why have G Loomis (and perhaps other rod companies) taken to mounting their hook keepers on the top of the blank, pointing backwards?

Hummm, I'm not familiar with those. Is this on a spinning rod? I could see it maybe on a casting rod. I honestly don't see where it would make much difference. There must be theory for it though.

Definitely on spinning rods and possibly on casting rods as well, though I have not seen them.
