Area 16 early elk

Well drew my first elk tag with only one point! Not very familiar with this area and plan on making a few trips up there before the season starts. Thinking of starting around mount Jefferson. Anyone have any other areas that would be good to check out? Any info would be a big help!

I've never seen elk on Jefferson. That doesn't mean they aren't there, I've just never seen them in all the years I've hunted that area. Go east towards Table Mtn and Wallace Canyon. Even Mosquito Creek. 2 years ago, a 390" bull was killed in the flats below Wallace Canyon. I have seen quite a few elk in the Antelope Mtn/Kelly Creek area as well.

Got it done on opening weekend. Put a lot of miles on the boots. This bull was the best one we saw and I am more than happy with him. Couldn't have done it without a couple of really good friends and everyone that helped me out on here

We seen some deer up there too wapitiwilly, one really nice one in same canyon with bulls. 2 other smaller ones, but we saw ALOT of bucks scouting for bulls so they are there. I will definitely be putting in for muzzy and rifle deer for 16 next year! Good luck to you look forward to the posting.
