LAST EDITED ON May-03-17 AT 12:50PM (MST)[p]The forum seems a bit slow the last couple of days. This is my favorite "state forum" so I thought I'd throw up a post to stay busy. :) This is a buck I killed about 4 years ago...its the largest and most mature buck I've ever killed. I euro'd this buck and it looks great on my fireplace. I can't wait to get back to Nevada to try to kill another good buck.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

Yep...192. My son 13 YO had a tag and we hunted down near Topaz the opening 4 days. My son had a minimum type buck he wanted to shoot which was a 114 inch 3x3...it would be his first buck deer. It wasn't 5 minutes that we got off the pavement and headed up to the area we were planning to hunt for the eve that we saw a buck trying to hide behind a big sage bush adjacent to the 2 track we were driving on. The buck thought he was hidden and gave us plenty of time to get out of the truck, get my son set up prone with the bipod out, get settled down and squeeze off the shot. Perfect placement...the buck ran about 40 yards and tipped over. He is a 16 inch 4x4 with a really cool rack. I'll post a pic or two tomorrow. Pics on my office computer.

The next 3 days, we saw 1 little forked horn so I left with my tag unfilled. I went back with a few days left in the season. I hunted the northern part of the unit and I saw a lot more deer in the snow. It's not a trophy unit from what I was told but I had a very enjoyable hunt with my son and my Dad. When I go back, I'll need to stop in the bar in Genoa to have a beer...I never was able to do that when I was there.
