One thing I do not like about the electoral college is the fact that some states, CA. for one, throws all the votes behind the candidate that gets a simple majority of 51%.
The votes should be split based on the vote and not "take all" just because candidate #1 got 51% and candidate #2 got 49%.

REHL and N, I do agree in principle as well. With the electoral college reflecting House members that are allotted by population in various regions in each state and a given 2 senators then minority population states would still have appropriate representation. Pretty sure that's how the make up of the number of electoral college votes is dictated.
