EXPO AUCTION TAGS

Arizona state wide deer was bought by Doc again for 140 ish. The Jicarilla deer tag went for 42k. The state wide Kansas deer tag went for cheap. Colorado near 70k if I remember right. It seemed like most of the stuff was discounted.

Colorado Antelope = $4000
California Open Zone Deer = $8000
Nebraska State wide buck = $5000
Wyoming Gov tag only one either deer, elk or lope = $11,000

one pahvant elk any season choice tag went for $22k, and the other went for $27k. The montana sheep tag went for $145k but I think that one was posted. I was going to bid on the sanjuan tag but it hit $15k in less than a minute. So i let it go.

Hey, did anyone notice how much money you can make in utah by becoming a babystroller salseman? Geez, I'm in the wrong business. ROFL!

I bought my kids stroller at a yard sale!

It may have been one of the one's you saw stinkystomper!

Not sure if anyone noticed but a 12 year old kid was standing on a chair and with daddy's prodding was the one actively (and with a great deal of enthusiasm) bidding on the statewide Utah deer tag. When dad had the kid bid $200,000 and then would not let him bid $210,00 after the $205,000 bid, the kid was pretty upset.

Dad took care of that. The kid got back on the chair and then bought the next auction lot, the statewide Utah elk tag for $110,000. Then after a few other lots were sold, someone paraded the 12 year old up to the stage and Jeff Foxworthy introduced him to the auction crowd as the indiviudal who would be the hunter for the statewide elk tag.

Pretty bizarre and spoiled for life.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-09-09 AT 08:01PM (MST)[p]I too had the privilege or shall I say lack thereof of watching the same young kid. Our table was very near to his and I personally left the banquet that night disgusted by what I saw. He was very upset about the deer tag and cried up a very good show. He knew how to work it and got his way. He turned the tears into instant smiles when he needed to and vice versa. I figured the worst was over, but the MDF boys decided to "honor" the kid by taking him up there. I for one, didn't applaud as everyone else cheered him. I think if everyone would have watched the show he put on, they wouldn't have either.

Those around us told us he's been on plenty of hunts already in his life and I'm sure we will see him for years to come.

Now I'm not his parents and won't judge anyone for anything, but it was a sad display and a disappointing evening watching that garbage!

I'm still shaking my head on that experience...

Back to the post... the NM Combo tag went for $130K and I was told MT sheep tag was $245K in the afternoon, yet $145K was posted here... which was it?
