Good for California and Humboldt County.

Wish they'd reconsider and he gets the full 20 years. And............ I hope it's hard, hard time.

You commit a crime, with a deadly weapon, you need to get the full force of the law in you lap.

Attempted murder of any kind should take your freedoms away for so long you're no long a threat, not because of a change of heart but from a weakening of physical strength brought on by the infirmities of old age. If prisons get over crowded, stack their bunks higher and add some water to the stew.

As a close and personal friend of the officer I can say this statement from the article is spot on:

?Officer Wells showed incredible resolve in pursuing the two defendants despite taking fire while alone in a remote area of our County in the middle of the night. I appreciate his dedication to protecting our natural resources and commitment to protecting the public.?

I think he got off light. I think he should have gotten 20 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm and then add another 20 for attempted murder on top of that.
