Brown Bush Duiker

He might not look like much but he is a trophy to me. He actually scores gold medal class green score.

He was an old ram. All of the hair on his legs and some of his body was gone. He was very thin with few teeth and I don't think he would have made it through the winter.

Feel very fortunate having been able to take him.

joe--

The tiny 10 are under-rated. That's a dang nice duiker! Congrats on your hunt. Where were you hunting and with whom?

My wife and I did a hunt in the Eastern Cape of South Africa with John X back in May. A buddy of mine came along and really got into the Tiny 10; took an exceptional steenbok and a great klippie. My wife wasn't keen on me tipping over the little ones and I ended up passing a great common duiker in the midst of trying a stalk on a southern greater kudu. No regrets, but the kudu won that round.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you congrats.

I would love to take the Tiny 10 at some point. Awesome little animals. I took a Cape Grysbok as well. I will have to post a picture. I agree, they are highly underrated.

I was hunting with the Rudman's at Blaauwkrantz out of Port Elizabeth. Just a totally fantastic and amazing trip.

Blaauwkrantz was in our top 3 list when we were researching for our last hunt, and I've heard nothing but good things about them. I take it you'd go back and hunt with them again?

Would love to see a pic of the Grysbok when you have time to post.

The Africa experience is so completely different than North America, I find it difficult to explain to a lot of other hunters. But one thing for sure-it is addictive!

If I could get on a plane and go back with the Rudman's tomorrow I would be there. It was so totally amazing. Not exaggerating we saw hundreds of Kudu bulls. It was so so incredible. My good friend told me that words and pictures don't do Africa justice and I agree. It is so much more than that. I am addicted to Africa and planning my return trip before I even left.

My days of hunting AK and Canada are going to be very limited after going to Africa.

Great duiker. Congrats on a super trophy.

When I went on my first trip, the wife made me promise "no ugly ones, and no little ones". Couldn't hold off and a great wildebeest and a hartebeest fell to the 375 H&H. Did manage to hold off on little ones for 3 trips now, but it gets tougher every year. :)

Looking for a hyena this trip, and that is probably pushing the ugly button again.

I don't remember the length for sure but know he scored in the Silver medal class.
