Last weekend I was fortunate enough to punch my tag on the extended archery. I had this buck at 30 yds the week before but he busted me. I found him in the exact same spot the next week and started my way down the mountain and when I got 200 yds from him and his hot doe the wind hit my back going straight to them. So I circled around and got my wind right. When I came up the draw to get back on him he left his doe and another buck picked her up. At this point my buddy had the buck and I in the spotting scope he was 30 yds and I couldn't see him. Again he busted off. So I worked my way down the backside of the ridge he ran down. Making my way across the flats I ran into the buck he was standing in front of a tree at 81 yds. He took a couple steps and stopped and I made a perfect shot. The buck jumped and bucked when i hit him and all I could see was fletchings buried in his shoulder. I waited about an hour to retrieve him. When we went back in at dark to track him we couldn't find any blood. I searched for about 25 minutes in all the thick trees and found nothing. I was about to back out for the night and decided start dropping elevation and found him in the tall grass piled up. I'm glad I was able to tag out on the front and have been fortunate enough to do so the last 3 years. Hopefully I can share some pictures of an elk kill sometime here in the next few weeks on the extended.

You earned that big fella! Way to go!

Good for ya! Those bucks are hard to get with a bow, even during the rut. There's so much hunting pressure, the bucks are nowhere near as dumb as some might think. You did good. Now get a bull.

Thanks fellas can't wait to make some jerky and get the euro back. Brian aint that the truth they can be so dumb and then at the last second get there wits together and bust off. Those does seem to spoil things alot as well. And alot of times you think you're the only one stalking a buck and a couple other guys are to. Hopefully one day I can shoot the caliber of deer you do Brian. Good luck to everybody on the mtn and hopefully you have an awesome end to your hunting season.
