Govs tag rocky mountain big horn poached ?

The rumor I heard was that they killed the ram on the Nebo unit. When the Governor's tag was not allowed to hunt on that unit this year. I guess they alternate between the gov's tag and the sportsmen's tag on which one can hunt that unit each year. This year the sportsmen's tag was allowed to hunt that unit not the gov's tag. The ram is supposed to be close to if not a new state record from what I heard as well.

Poached.... And the Hillary effect will be the reason... "But, we didn't know we couldn't hunt that unit." "Oh and look at how much money we give to conservation in your state each year." "Oh, yeah, we'll see how we can make this workout for you guys." But this will no longer be a defense for the average Joe hunter the next time it happens.

Outfitter should be held 100% accountable on this deal. But do that after the "finders fee" has been paid out for the sell-out.! ;-)

I agree the outfitters should be held accountable. But the hunters as well I was told that when they send the tag out there is a paper in it telling you weather or not you can hunt that unit. So the hunters should of known they couldn't hunt that unit if that is the case. It is a bunch BS but they will probably find a way to WORK it out. And everybody will be happy (except for the sportmen's tag holder) and the outfitter can claim they guided the saposed new state record ram.

It will be real interesring to see how this plays out. We shall see if they get off....comfiscate the ram?

I remember watching KSL a few or more years ago when they had the guy that shot a couple cow elk up spanish fork canyon. Got carried away and lost track of the 1st cow he shot. ....i am pretty sure they hammered him. Buy i am sure rhis is different deal..its only a bighorn ram

WLO needs to be taken down a couple notches. They think they own every animal in the state and will try to intimidate hunters if they are in an area where a big animal is known to be.
If this is not dealt with swiftly and severely it will send a clear message to me that boundaries and hunt units mean nothing. We may as well apply for a book cliffs deer tag and then go hunt the Henry Mtns.

Lmfao! what ever happened to the buck they had hog tied alive then it showed up dead?

It's already been confiscated. They took it in to have it tagged and the springville office took it. Probably the reason they hurry and deleted their posts and pictures about it because they want to keep it quiet, the only flaw to that is a thing called screen shot!

LMAO!!!!
Anyone know how much the dude paid for his confiscated sheep hunt??

Btw, shouldn't pig boy be here defending his idol Wade?

A women from Texas huh?
I'd like to believe you but your other post about $FW is so full of BS I have my doubts about anything you say now.

Or how about a report? Hard to believe that this hasn't hit a wider knowledge base given the rarity of sheep, the controversy of high money tags, and an outfitter to boot. That is basically the perfect shitstorm

What a bunch of bullshit !! Only two tags and the hunter and the dumb outfitter don't know the rules ?? I didn't get a letter from the UDWR telling me I can only shoot one elk I had to make damn sure I knew ALL the rules of the hunt. Ignorance, stupidity, is no excuse !! Hang the stupid poachers !! Can I draw one unit and not know the unit boundary and kill a trophy bull in the next unit because DWR didn't send me a map ? If I don't live in UT do I need to know their hunting laws and follow them or can I just tell the LEO no one told me ?

" can I just tell the LEO no one told me "

Actually jodog someone did tell them. That is one of many differences that had to be considered here.

you're right someone did tell them, but that someone told them incorrectly - just because the DWR employee they talked to didn't know the rule doesn't make the violation ok. They violated a written law that can be found no problem with some due diligence. Ignorance is not a defense, at least for the regular joe tagholder.

If it is the auction tag holder with one of the DWR's "sacred cow" auction tags, then no harm, no foul.

Complete crap and shame on the DWR, Wade Lemon, and the hunter that shot the ram for getting off with the double standard!!

You have no evidence of a double standard because nothing like this has ever happened before. You are reacting emotionally and you don't know all of the facts. Try thinking. It works.

The prosecutor didn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole for a reason and you can't copout and chalk it up to a double standard.

Tri do you literally get dumber with age? I mean my hell we have no proof this happens because the DNR is good at cover ups. Just like how they traded antelope head for head for turkeys. I am sorry but a antelope is worth like 4 turkeys.

Tri,
In my previous post, I mentioned that ignorance is never a defense, but I need to retract that statement. Ignorance on this subject for sure, and about every other, is your only defense I'm afraid.

....the pool of whales is a very small pool....and every couple of years they come and go....when a state is working a whale, you DO NOT turn them off by citing them.

Awesome. You have never seen this before because of "cover-ups"????

Are you telling me that for the past two years rams were killed in the nebo and the state covered it up????

Interesting.

The pool of whales is enormous. That's why sheep tags often cost over 100k. Have you ever been to a SCI convention or a sheep show?

You mean like how you always seem to stick up for poachers?

An earlier post mentioned that the ram had been confiscated. But since the DWR doesn't think they did anything wrong and aren't prosecuting did they return the ram to the hunter.

WVHUNTER,

More than likely the confiscation post was just unfounded gossip. The hunter has the ram.
