Knee Pads

The ones I use are from one of the home stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. Just make sure they have two straps instead of only one. That way they are above and below the joint. I also get the ones with a hard plastic cover which is impervious to cactus spines. Mine seem to stay up pretty good when walking, but stay in my pack until actually needed. The old ones lost all their stretch, so I had to duck tape them!

These are great for comfort, and flooring contractors love them because they are non-marring for laminate or hardwood installations. I use them inside the house all the time, but on concrete they wear pretty quickly.

My only comment on the foam or nylon knee pads is although they are very comfortable, if you kneel on a cactus the spines will go right thru and you will never get them all out of the foam. Our lava rock here in the desert cuts them up too.

You may also want to invest in a pair of elbow pads! My elbows tend to take a pounding and get just as many cactus as my knees! Be sure to keep an eye on where you sit...for obvious reasons!

True test of friendship is your partner asking you to pull cactus spines out of his azz in the field!!!!

I'm not sure what kinda knee pads the guys at work use, but I'll ask. They must be super comfortable because no one could spend that much time on their knees under the bosses desk unless they had really good ones. It's almost like they look for excuses each day to whip them out and put them to use
