I am looking to do a spot and stalk bear hunt in the sprin of 2016 in Idaho's unit 39. Looking for a little advice on rather or not it is worth my time in this popular unit that is so close to a big city. Is this a good option for a spot and stalk hunt? If a couple of guys spent some time in this unit and worked hard covering a lot of ground with both boot leather and glass is it plosable to have a successful hunt? Any tips or advice on areas, tactics, or different units would be greatly appreciated.

we have hunted this unit two years now. its been ok but not great. as rookie bear hunters we are satisfied but after talking to people that hunt other units and different areas, i might look elsewhere. that being said, the first year we hunted it we hunted 4 days and saw one bear each day. my buddy missed two bears, so we both COULD'VE tagged out. this year we literally just got back on Sunday from 5 days hunting. it was not great, maybe too early, bad weather.... the biologist out of nampa said they were already having a lot of bear problems, "so we should be perfect", (her words). we were successful in killing one bear. we put the boots to work and covered some miles, we also drove the death out of the truck too. we were 2hours east of Boise and never felt like we were crowded. Saturday and Sunday seemed a little busy but during the week is awesome, with less people.
here is a little video i put together. nothing great but it depicts our hunt, and tells of the areas we were hunting. im going back in a couple weeks to try it again and see if i can tag out. hope this helps.
